The Ladies of this vicinity have formed a society
called the "Ladies benevolent working Society" They meet
twice a fortnight to knit, sew, tell stories, &c &c. The object
is to raise funds for some charitable purpose. Such
for instance as to paint the inside of the meeting ??
house or to send somebody off a mishonarying --
their next meeting is at McLean's tomorrow evening

It is now past 11 oclock and all our folks
have been to bed an hour, or more ---

Cynthia is about as she has been for some time past

Eliza has gone to Adams. ["Our"??] is cultivating a very
fine pair of Mustaches. They have got to be very
long & black and are a wonderful addition to the
personal appearance of the [Great??]. You would not
know him I dare say if you should happen to meet
him unexpectedly away from house. You must
not let him know that I have said any thing about
his whispers for I am afraid he would take it
in high dudgeon --
