hrysopsis XXX [Chrysopsis] mariana "The species which has been sent me from New Jersey
by my much esteemed friend Dr. Torry, of New York, as the Inula
falcata of Pursh, is certainly a very distinct species from this.
It may be distinguished as C. falcata foliis lineari-lanceolatis,
acutis, rigidis, sub falcatis; involucri squamis sub tomentosis.
The flowers in my specimen too smaller than thos of the C.
mariana.
