The High Point Garden Club met on March 6 at the home of Mrs.A.S.Caldwell,with twenty members present.

The High Point Garden Club met with Mrs. F.N. Tate on March 20th.

The Roll-call showed 17 members present who told in response to their names some interesting thing they were intended to do in their gardens this season.

Mrs. S.C. Clark reported that entries in The City Beautiful contest were coming in well, nearly 500 to date. The Chairman, Mr. T.A. Sykes expects a thousand. Help was asked from the members in securing entries and accordingly many took more blan ks for this purpose. A slogan contest for the campaign is now on with a $25 prize for the best one.

The Treasurer reported $76.46 now in hand.

Mrs. J.E. Cox told the Club that she has 47 fascinating books on gardening and flowers which she offers to lend club members. Some of the titles were read and members expressed great appreciation of this kind offer.

The High Point Garden Club met with Mrs.J.E.Cox on April 3rd. Twenty-five members responded to the Roll-Call. A number of interesting suggestions about our next Flower Show were offered.

The Treasurer reported a balance of $71.46.

Members were requested to send in vines and plants to the Chamber of Commerce this week for free distribution. The number of entrants in the City Beautiful Contest is steadily increasing.

Mrs.A.E.Tate sent the Club information about the possibility of having Mr.Horace McFarland speak as he is now in the South. Voted that the President be empowered to secure Mr.McFarland if possible for an expenditure of not more than $25. If he can be secured decided to ask the other Garden Clubs to unite with us in this.

The program followed on "Water in the Garden" under the leadership of Mrs.S.H.Tomlinson.

Mrs.Taylor told very clearly about "What to Grow in a Pool and what to Plant in this Section." She gave directions on just how to make a small pool and told how to get a maximum of bloom and joy from a minimum of space and expense. Mrs.J.E.Cox advised choosing your own water plants rather than let florists fill up your pool with what will have to be thinned out later or removed.

Mrs.Moore told about most inexpensive and practical bird baths and Mrs.White also told about a home-made bird bath.

Many questions and suggestions made the meeting most practical.

The High Point Garden Club met on April 17 with Mrs.J.D.Cox.

Twenty members were present.

Secretarys report was read and approved.

Treasurer reported a balance on hand of $68.96. State dues have been paid.

Mrs.S.C.Clark reported encouraging progress in City Beautiful Contest.

It has been impossible to get in touch with Mr.Mcfarland hence nothing could be done about his visit here.

Two poems selected by Mrs.J.E.Cox on "Dogwood" have been published in the Enterprise and through the co-operation of the school authorities they are being used in all the schools. Different members were asked to send copies to various papers in the State.

The call to Convention of the State Garden Club at Winston-Salem on May 9th was read also a special invitation from the hostess club the Twin City Garden Club.

The Club voted to entertain the State Federation of Woman8s Clubs at an informal garden tea at the home of Mrs.J.D.Cox during the convention in High Point. The date is May 2nd. Mrs.J.D.Cox Mrs.O.P.Moffitt and Mrs.S.H.Tomlinson were appointed to make arrangements in co-operation with a committee from the Woman's Club.

Mrs.Ragsdale then conducted a delightful program on "Annuals". Miss Virginia Ragsdale's paper was full of wit and wisdom.

Several members brought arrangements of blooming shrubs and other spring bloom. Mrs.Aldermans of pirus japonica received

the popular vote and Mrs. Harmon's arrangement of Kerria and lilac was close second.

Adjourned to visit Mrs. Alderman's garden at Sedgefield, on the first of May.
