My dear Hazel,

If I had written as often as I've thought of you, you would have had many letters from me. To be perfectly truthful I've done quite a bit of worrying on your account. Someone wrote me that there were rumors that you were leaving us and moving to Greens-

I am glad.

We are all having a good time feel mean about leaving the preacher but hope he can come down and spend a while before long. We are ten miles from a town of any size and find it very quiet and restful. It's fine not to wake in the morning and find the pots, pans and broom staring you in the face

It has been raining here for days and nights, the streams are all full and some of the large bridges have been washed away. The boys miss their daily swim in the creek.
