Dearest Mother -

Your letter with the check for fifteen dollars recieved. Thank you so very much. I have gotten Bill a pair of tan oxfords and my self a pair of blue low heel pumps that are very comfortable and good looking I gott Alvis a light weight jacket and a white sailor hat (with a bell like a captains) and will get Alvis a pair of shoes nearer Easter.

Hazel sent a dollar for Bill for this birthday so I bought Bill a white cap to go with the suit I had put on lay-A-way for Easter. Auntie Faye sent him a

dollars and I'm getting him socks as soon as the spring styles come in. Marion gave Bill a dollar. I told her he really did not need any thing now. She said to apply it on his suit in layaway so I did.

I am getting to be a pretty good seamstress. I have made Mrs. Bollinger three aprons for her Baby Jim, and a pair of curtains for her breakfast room. It keeps me in cigarette money. Now I'm making a dress for her.

Mother Ennis wants the boys to spend a week with her this summer, or did I tell you? If they stay

well I think I'll do it, if she will let me pay to have the boys clothes washed.

Willie came over for waffles Sunday morning then back for dinner. He said he ate so much he would not need to eat the rest of day. We sure do enjoy the waffle iron.

is his way of thanking me for helping the girls on that side. I was the only one in the store who stayed to help the girls who work in that dept. I have stayed several times for ten or fifteen minutes to help them. I know they are as anxious to get out as I am. So why not help them to get out Earlier.

I went to the Red Cross dinner with Mira Wilson the Monday after she came back. I enjoyed it very much. Mira certainly does rave about you. Well, I can't blame her, I too, think you are a swell person. So glad you are my mother.

Howard sent the boys each a tie rack of leather with a Hawaiian scene on it and to Bill for his birthday he sent a coconut carved out like a head the the inside hollow. It is nearly eleven oclock. I still have a bath to take and hose to wash out. Once in a blue moon I get to bed before 11:00. There is always something to do.

So I'd better stop and do some of those things.

Lots & lots of love and thanks again for the check. Liza
