IN REPLY TO YOURS OF 2/11 Greensboro, N. C. FEB 13 1911

My dear Sister

Thank you for the kind thought that prompted the socks brought by Vories on Saturday last, they are several sizes too large, but I think I can exchange them up town. Grace & Margaret left for a two weeks visit to Haw River on Sat. and May was with Marjorie last night as Earl was called to Lynchburg so that, Vories Mollie & I were the whole push for the time. Did you give the Elks Com. your ultimatum regarding the sale, subject to the partition of the lot. If so of course the deal is off, and the property will probably be of benifit to our heirs only, whose needs, I trust, may not be as great as ours. Letter from Faye this a.m. she is on a case of Pneumonia with two other nurses, and expects to be for several weeks at Georgetown. She finished the other case and within an hour of registering was called on this. I have had several letters from Mr. Toles from New Orleans, but he has not yet decided if he can stop & see us on his way North in March.

I am thinking of selling my 10 lots in Shelby at auction in the spring. I will so offer if advised I can thus obtain a fair price for them.

This mornings mail seemed like old times with six valentines for Vories and Margaret. Frank sent a check for $50.00 for board and Life Ins. he is making big money and is so kind to remember us in his prosperity, his business has increased 50% over last year same time, so that he works from 6am to 10 P.M. almost every day, for he says he can get no one else to do certain work, as he must have it to hold his trade against fierce competition. The Patrick Co. Va. job has not yet materialized, but I still have some hope that the deal will go through. I have finished the Broad River work until Mr. Angle comes again, some time in March. I suffered with all my neighbors in heavy Electric Light bills, mine from 12/23 to 1/24 was 5.70 gross or 5.13 net. The holidays was the Co's excuse - it usually is abt 3.00 winter & 1.00 minimum in Summer. The owner is making a strong effort to sell all his property including this house. It might be a good move to take a smaller house at less cost and with less work for Mollie but I think we will not make a change until we are forced so to do. We cannot bear to think of moving for we are out of practice, only two moves in 27 years. I hope you are well and content with your new house arrangements. Please come up & see us when you can. With love from all brother George
