Dear Mrs Shipman:-

It was only recently that I learned of your great sorrow and loss. Even at this late date I want you to know that I have thought about you many times since hearing. It was not my good fortune to know Mr. Shipman, tho' I am sure I met him casually in the church while I was in High Pt but I have heard of his splendid Christian character and sympathize deeply with you in your bereavement.
