Forest Miss. June 10. 1924

My dear Hazel:

I suppose you are again in High Point, after making a trip wich – so sad a mission, it seems that none other could be be sadder, than to lay a husband and father to rest; my heart not only grieves for the loss of a brother but for you the Lord has in his wisdom seen it wise to place in your hands much responsibility. may you cast all your cares upon him for he careth for you. The Almighty requires of us perfect, complete, submission to his will. I can not help feel that you are resigned to his will, yet the human heart ache is still there the loveliness of companionship is severed. Mr. Batte and I so deeply sympathize with you

We are so thankful that your husband and my brother had the faith of one who believed in an eternal Salvation thro the death of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ as you gather your precious children around your knees praying for and with them as they rise in the morning and close their eyes in sleep at night, commit them into the fathers keeping, he will guide you and keep you thus thro days of trial and temptation I would ask you to make your watch words the 23 Psalm, Only trust him and he will be your shepherd, These earthly afflictions are reminders of the Master's love. pleading with us to walk more closely to his side.

We wish the little folks to know that we love them and feel that in your hours of depression, they will be a great comfort. We wish to be [?] to Ernest family. Will write to hear in a few day. Our prays are that the Master's sustaining grace shall be always yours

Much love from us both, Your affectionate Sister Katherine S. Batte
