Charades No

My first is a nickname applied to a riace,
Who come to our shores from over the sea,
With love in their hearts for their island home,
Mingled with the strangest ideas about being free.

Free to do as they happen to choose
Wife and babes to caress or to abuse,
And a sovereign he feels in his humble cot
With his bottle and "praties", if else, he has not.
But of crowned let it be in our own quiet glades
And will sing honor to him - the stalwart king of spades,"

In my second, my first is sure to have a hand,
Else what's the use of being free?
And in the fury of the wild and lawless band,
Most furious and wild is he.
My second knows not the pure and peaceful sway
Of law or reason, but blind fury guides its way.

My whole loves his country, with a devotion as pure
As the love that a fathger bears for his son,
Will weep for her shame, in her righteous cause endure,
With courage and constancy till her course is won.

No
My first is a preposition; my second is an
article of masenline apparel; my third is a personal
pronoun; my fourth is used to obstruct passages;
my whole is what all thinkers do.

No
My first is a color; my second is a sentinel; my
whole is a detestable character.
