Cherry Valley Ohio March 5 / 1893.

Dear Aunt Cordelia Your letter came last eve and we were very glad to receive it as Fathers eyes a quite poor. it troubles him to read in the evening - so I read it out loud and we all enjoyed it very much.

I have thinking for a long time I would write to you when Sunday came, but many Sundays have come and gone since the thought came to my mind and today I will make my first attempt -

I came home one week ago Yesterday and glad indeed was I to see home

cold today

The roads are still badly drifted in some places It has been a very hard winter on old people.

It has been so slippery much of the time that it has been unsafe for even young people to try to walk much.

However I only met with one accident and that did not hurt me very badly

I was coming back from the Post Office one morning quite early the walk runs along a bank for some distance but there is two wires stretched to make if safe for people I was walking along quite rapidly and before I was aware that I was wa slipping I went over the bank.

I went down about six ft but owning to there being so much snow at the

bottom I was not hurt only my feelings to think that some people that were coming down the walk took it all in for I did not cut a very graceful figure.

I also met with another accident but of a different nature.

I lost my Gold watch it was found however after three days

The boys are all getting to be nearly young men Joel and Leo are both taller than I So I can no longer say I am the tallest one in the family

Little Roy is growing nicely and is getting to be a bright little boy and no doubt will be a spoiled child as there are so many to hlep spoil him
