4 many have got any in Monday after noon. It rained half the night after the pleasant day was raining when we got up but Eva had gather wash water on and so washed and the sun came out and she put her clothes out and dried them but it is raining again. The face of the country has changed within a week as the rain has been warmer The yard has on a beautiful green carpet. The round beds out in front have lots of hepaticas in bloom and other wild things coming up the crocuses on the long bed are in bloom and the other will soon be coming on

The boys went to the woods yesterday and brought home some early flowers for boquets Eva has had her [full?] shading south of the house

5 I like to see fresh clover [?] I believe she is going to put out her Chrisanthemum soon she has had sweet peas out a week I think they msut begin to show them selves soon I dont know but I told you [Jophen?] had cut down all the willows out and cut it up into wood. It made a big pile of it but it keeps one put wood into the stove half the time. He has piled the brush on the stump and is going to burn them out root and branch I suppose. We got a can of syrup and then half brick of very nice sugar some small cakes for the children and two or three quarts of hicktory nuts and a tea cup full of beachnuts Got a line from Ida that they were on their way it took a fortnight but
