Dear Professor Donovan,
I have received the report of the Committee on
Evil Literature over which you were good enough to preside.
I have not yet had time to examine and consider this report
in detail but a general perusal of its contents makes it
clear to me that the Committee carried out their task with
great care and thoroughness. I am satisfied that the
report will be of the greatest possible use when the time
comes for legislative action to deal with the problem of
evil literature and kindred matters.
I wish to express my high appreciation of the
care and ability with which the Committee dealt with the
whole matter and I shall be glad if you will accept my
best thanks for your work as Chairman and convey to the other
members of the Committee my best thanks for their services.
I assume it will be necessary to have the report printed and, in
fact, I do not at present see any reason why it should not,
but I should like to know whether you have anything to urge
against its publication.
