we have mass here at 1:30 in the afternoon which makes it hard to go to communion. In a few weeks they say it'll be straightened out. I hope so it is most inconvenient.

I too was surprised to learn that Robert Sheehan '45 was in Missouri & ready to solo.

Well I guess that's about all the news. One more thing the link trainer. Maybe you'd like to hear about that.

This gadget is the link trainer on which you learn instruments. It is my biggest headache. I know what to do etc, but I fly it like I drive a tank. You have to be as light as a feather on the controls. Under the hood there is no light except that behind the instruments. You have

to feel the stick and rudders and throttle It acts the same as a plane. On the desk are duplicate instruments so the instructor can tell just what your instruments are reading. The gadget connected from above traces a course on a piece of paper on the desk. After being in that an hour is -- for me -- worse than flying 4 hours. It is a swell gadget however and you learn plenty from it.

The trainer turns, banks, climbs, & dives. About the only thing it can't do is to turn over.

Well I guess that's all. Miss Haff said you compared notes on the servicemen. What I left out of here will probably be in her letter & vice versa.
