Fort Des Moines Iowa
Monday 6.15 pm.

Dear Kids.
Arrived O.K. at 6 a.m.
Was met in Des Moines. Took
an 8 mile truck ride out to
camp. The streets are covered
with ice & snow and it [missing, is?]
below zero. Went to [reception?]
center. Dr. looked at our
throats, we were issued a card
with name & Co. no. & Group no.
Then went to Lt. Massey and
got our Barracks & bunk no.
Was then turned over to Sgt.
Musick(?). Found our barracks &
bed & then went to breakfast

[Left Side]
make it stamps. Then
back to barracks. Then
ate dinner at 1.30. Then
to infirmary at 2. Oh! me!
Oh! my! Same thing all
over again and three
shots on top of that. My
left arm is a little sore.
[But] guess I'll live. Will
[?] you again but wait
until I send you an address
tell all the gang. How are
my babies. I know I'll
miss them. I bunked with
Mary Walker last night. We
had a lot of fun. We were
the only ones with a lower
birth (sic). Love to All Mother
