UNITED STATES COMMISSION ON CIVIL RIGHTS WASHINGTON, D.C. 20425

October 19, 1967

The Honorable Julian Bond House of Representatives District 136 823 Drummond Street, S. W. Atlanta, Georgia 30314

Dear Mr. Bond Julian:

Thank you for the pamphlet you shared with me. I found it to be quite interesting.

Pursuant to your request of October 18, I am enclosing some statistics from "Revolution in Civil Rights," third edition. I am sorry I cannot provide you with statistics on American cities that will have a Negro majority by 1975. However, I hope the projection to 1970 will be of some use to you in your future speeches.

If I can be of further help to you, please let me know.

Sincerely yours, [signed] Carl M. Carl Holman Deputy Staff Director

Enclosure

Dear Mr. Holman:

Thanks for thr information. It will be helpful, especially now that I'm being invited to make repeat performances in some cities I spoke in a year or so ago. I've found to my sorrow that it doesn't do to repeat yourself too often.

Sincerely,
