MR. JULIAN BOND

House of Representatives

Atlanta, Georgia

Dear Mr. Bond:

Thanks for your reply. I think the solution to this is in your letter. Since you placed no title on your poem suppose we extract one from your letter thus:

SOME NEGROES SAID:

'Langston Hughes

writes of Harlem's

simple folks

We are not impressed!

We don't like to see ourselves

with our soulds undressed.'

Would this be agreeable to you? If so, we await your reply and confirmation.

Thanks for being patient with us.

Yours sincerely

[signed] [illegible]

Russell Atkins, C.L.Jordan Adelaide Simon, Editors

P.S. The lines in the poem remain unchanged.
