Mr. Julian Bond 823 Drummond Street, S.W. Atlanta, Georgia, 30314

Dear Mr. Bond:

On behalf of the Atlanta Association for Retarded Children, we thank you for supporting HB 453. The Exceptional Children's bill will go down in history as opening a new era for Georgia's forgotten children.

We urge your continued support for appropriations to implement this bill. 300 new classes are needed instead of the 150 new included in the Education Department's budget. This would require an additional $1,500,000.

Again, we thank you for your support and interest.

Sincerely yours, [signed] G. Thomas Graf G. Thomas Graf Executive Director

GTG:gw

P. S. We also urge your support of a $200,000 day care line item in the Health Department's budget.

Dear .....:

Thank you for your letter. I was glad to receive th support HB 453 in the Education Committee and on the floor of the House.

Sincerely,
