Mr. Robert Walker American Program Bureau Boston, Massachusetts

Dear Mr. Walker:

I notice from last Sunday's New York Times Magazine that you receive "on the average of fifteen letters a week from would-be speakers" asking you to represent them.

I am an "in-fact" speaker, and I want to ask for representation. Since Janiuary 1, 1968, I have spoken in the following places:

Atlanta -- Negro Civic Club -- Jan. 3 Atlanta -- Negro Church Forum -- " 7 Athens, Ga. -- University of Ga. -- " 12 Harrisburg, Penna. -- Anti-War Rally -- " 13 Cleveland, Ohio -- Political Forum -- " 19 Norfolk, Va. -- Negro college -- " 21 Washington, D. C. -- Young Democrate -- " 26 Warner Robbins, Ga. -- Negro Civic Club -- " 28

Detroit, Mich. -- Women's Club -- Feb. 3 Pittsburgh -- Anti-War Rally -- " 13

Plaquemine, La. -- Civic Club -- MaJune 9

The honorarium for these has averaged at about $200.00 plus expenses and hotel accomodations.

Until now, I have been making all arrangements myself; scheduling air travel, sometimes booking the hotel room, getting myself to the airport in the morning, and so on. This is bothersome, and makes it difficult to keep financial records, and I might add, to collect from reluctant sponsors.

At this writing, both the University of Massachausetts at Boston and Stetson University at DeLand, Florida owe me $300 each, and Stetson owes me for air travel down there and back.

I'd like to have your agency represent me because I think you could demand a larger honorarium and could ease the fdifficulty I now have in making most of the arrangements myself.

At any rate, I hope you are interested and that we can work out some sort of ararangement.

Sincerely,

Julian Bond
