Mr. Julian Bond 361 Lee Street, S.W. Atlanta, Georgia 30310

Dear Mr. Bond:

We wish to express our appreciation to you for speaking during our Youth Night Program, Wednesday, June 26th. As you know the audience was most receptive and we have heard many favorable comments on your appearance. I regret that it was not possible for you to remain with us throughout the convention but certain can understand that it was necessary for you to return to Atlanta.

Enclosed is a check in the amount of $150.00 which represents a small honorarium. I wish that it could be more. However, I hope you will understand that we do operate on a limited budget. This is by no means a measure of the extent of our appreciation but simply a modest gesture. With best wishes, I am

Sincerely,

John A. Morsell Assistant Executive Director

Dear Dr. Morsell:

Thank you for your kind letter and the check. Both were deeply appreciated. I enjoyed the short time I did manage to spend at the convention, and wish I could have spnt more time there.

Incidentally, I am speaking on this Friday evening for the Tampa, Florida branch's Freedom Fund Dinner.

Sincerely,
