The Honorable Horace Julian Bond 361 Lee Street, S. W. Atlanta, Georgia
Dear Mr. Bond:
I hope you will not consider this letter an intrusion. I intended to write you some time ago but just put it off. I had the pleasure of meeting you at Morehouse College some years ago and at the Hungry Club. I have admired your contribution to public life since your early participation.
Your actions in Chicago as well as in the Georgia legislature were rooted in the confidence born of negotiating skill and competency.
When you are in Washington, I would appreciate a call and perhaps we can have lunch so that we may discuss many matters which I believe are of mutual interest.
Sincerely yours, [signed] Belford Lawson Belford V. Lawson, Jr.
