Mr. Julian Bond 162 Euharlee Street, S.W. Atlanta, Georgia

Dear Mr. Bond:

At the suggestion of the chairman of CONTROVERSY '68 and on behalf of Nu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Lawyer's Club, the Law School's student government, and the entire University of Michigan community, we would like to extend to you our personal invitation to a reception in your honor following your participation in the Black Power Forum here on the after-noon of September 29.

We feel that, while your formal appearance will have great impact, personal contact with a few interested students in the informal atmosphere of a reception would greatly enhance the effect of your visit. Therefore, we are planning a reception for three speakers in the Michigan Union. This reception would begin about one-half hour after the discussion at Hill Auditorium and would last approximately one and a half hours. The Lawyer's Club would provide you with a private room in which to relax before the reception and personal transportation to the airport in time for your scheduled departuer and with dinner and lodging for the evening, should your schedule permit. We anticipate a meaningful and personal interaction with you through your presence at the Delta Sigma Theta-Lawyer's Club reception.

We would appreciate a response to our invitation at your earliest convenience.

Yours very truly,

(Miss) Carol Goings, President Nu Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Andrew G. Stone, Chairman Speaker's Committee Lawyer's Club of the University of Michigan cc: James Hradsky
