memorandum to Julian Bond from Dr. H.M. Bond October 2, 1968

Idea for Book Title: Julian Bond and his Family

Contents:

Section 1: rewritten autobiography of Julian's grand father, James Bond (now in manuscript, app. 128 typed pages doublespaced) the manuscript included an account of James Bond's slave mother, Jane Bond, and of his family origins.

Section 2: Autobiographer of Julian's father (now in process; could be prepared for this proposed book in any length).

Section 3: Autobiography of Julian Bond

Section 4: A general account of the extended family: uncles, cousins, etc.

(Reent developments make this interesting. Uncle Max's three children; Max, Jr., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Harvard; now recognized as one of the most brilliant American architects; George Bond has hust received his Ph.D. from the University of London, and has been appointed to a teaching job at Columbia U.; Jane is now a candidate for the Doctorate at the University of London.) ******** Of course, H.M.B. could do, later, the full length autobiography he is now writing ******** THIS MANUSCRIPT COULD BE PREPARED IN NO MORE THAN 4 MONTHS.
