Dear Mr. Bond:

The local chapter of Links, Incorporated, had instructed me, as its program chairman, to contact you about a speaking engagement.

It is a feature of our program each year to bring to this community an outstanding personality. You are the choice of our organization this year and we would be both delighted and honored to present you in a public program. No definite date for the program has been set as yet, but we are thinking about a Sunday afternoon during the last two weeks in November or the first two weeks in December. If you can find it possible to accept our invitation, and an agreeable financial arrangement can be made, we feel that a mutual time and date can also be arranged.

As the program chairman I must know from you first of all if you can speak for us. Then I would naturally need to know your honorarium, and the possible dates that you can come to us. I would certainly appreciate this information from you as soon as possible.
