Dear Marty,
You are absolutely correct, of course, about the necessity of having a Republican on the Board.
My first choice, however, would be Senator Edward Brooke, primarily because he is identifiably Republican. The candidate you suggest, however, certainly is worth more than a cursory consideration.
Since I have begun writing, I might say that I would like to have the SEF sponsor, perhaps in concert with some other organization, a SNCC-type registration, a summer campaign, staffed by college students. I am enclosing a copy of a proposal along those lines.
