Dear Chief Jenkins:

I am writing to ask for information about a man named John Howard who was found with his throat slit in early September of this year. A friend of the deceased has written me asking for information on this matter.

I would appreciate your sending me whatever information yhou may haveon the death of John Howard and on the disposition of mattrs surrounding his death. Mr. Howard had recently lived in Chicago, Illinois, but he and his family made their home in Rome, Georgia.
