Dear Pharr:
Why not begin to build public pressure to get the school board to fire A.C. (Pete) Latimer as Attorney for the Board of Education.
He has held this job since 1964, at a fee of around $60,000 a year, I believe, and has concerned himself with defending the School Board against integration suits.
Surely, 16 years after segregation in the public schools has been declared illegal, the school board does not need a lawyer with that kind of philosophy.
Sincerely,
Julian Bond
