Dear Mr. Austin:

Thank you for your letter of January 23.

I regret to inform you that I will be unable to speak on the date that you wish. The Georgia Legislature will be in session during that time and will command many busy hours.

I do suggest that you ask Mr. John Lewis, the new Director of the Voter Education Project, here in Atlanta.

I am enclosing a pamphlet on Southern Elections Fund, and a booklet that I edited for the Southern Regional Council, entitled, Black Candidates.

Sincerely,

Julian Bond
