Dear Mr. Kalles:
I had not meant to malign the memory of the late President Eisenhower; what I had actually said was that Nixon was returning the country to the ear of "do-nothingness" in the Presidency; Eisenhower typified this attitude, I believe, and acted in Little Rock with great reluctance and only after tremendous pressure was brought to bear.
United Press International chose, as is their right, to report part and only part of what I said.
