Rec'd and Sent a Telephone Sent a Deed. Rec'd a telephone from John at Rockford this evening informing me that he had traded his Coloardo land for Rockford property, and that I should send the government patent for the Colorado land.
Rain--very light. Fog; Calm; 33 degrees at 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 11th
Wrote a Letter. Wrote to Ernest and John at Rockford and sent deed to John by express on the 10:28 a.m. train.
Rain. Light rain; fog; calm; temp. at 2 p.m. 38 degrees.
Explosion. Last night a terrific explosion of dynamite took place near Polo. Circumstances not known.

Wednesday, Jan. 12th
Rain, Snow: Light rain; heavy fog; calm; snow, 1 in at 3 p.m., temp at 3 p.m., 34 degrees.
Recd f'm Rockford. John returned home from Rockford, at 1 p.m., in a shower.
