September 2, 1922 - Saturday
My Mother's birthday.
Slept late again this a.m. as I was physically exhaust-
ed [exhausted]. Again did not get a great deal done before break.;
always have soiled clothes to gather up, list & count
& clean ones to count, look over, sew & put a-
way [away]- a bigger job than it seems out here. Worked
off a lot of the stuff I'd brought over to do; those
pesky mats make me very nervous, some of the
combinations are such glaring colors, so many
mistakes are made, & the paper highly glazed.
Some people probably couldn't tell that I'd ac-
complished [accomplished] anything - but I have, tho' I hate these
'piddling' jobs. Mrs. E. & Miss P. went out late this
eve, but I didn't have sufficient warning to get
ready to go with them, as has several times been the
case; nor did I wish to stop what I was doing in order
to do so. Ma E. Sine came over while I was at break.
& again later wanting to help, so I gave her the sa-
polio [sapolio], a rag & water & let her wash the glass doors
of my bookcases. She looked at my stereoptican
views previously, so by the time she finished it
was time for her to go to her evening meal.

September 3, 1922 - Sunday
Worked on sorting the weaving mats all aft. Of
course went to divine worship this a.m. as usual.
The pastor in R. working on O.T. translation with
Dr. McG., I learn, & expects to be gone about six wks.
which will carry him thru this mo. Being the 1st
Sun. it was communion; had another baptism
before ch. Mr. G. preached. Am not getting a great deal
of home mail these days, & fear matters will not
improve much till I "get busy" & write some letters.
Had a B. lesson with Ma T.M; but Ma S.M. came for her
to lead even. service, so she left early, then & there, at
my suggestion; she was late beginning, so she needed
some time to make her preparations.
