Dear Aunt I received your letter dated Aprile the 29th from which I was pleasd to learn that you and all my friends in Logan were well But was sorry to hear that you and aunt Mary was displeased with your Change of residence But I am in hopes that time and further aquaintence will reconcile you to the country I was verry sorry to learn that you and Aunt Mary was so far deprived of Christian privileges as to have no Church of your order with which to meet in social worship but it is also to be hoped that time will obviate this difficulty, It appears from your letter that their has bin some misunder standing with regard to my religious friends you state that some says that I am of Campbellite Baptiste and some says that I am A member of the Christian Church I do not Clame the name of Campbell ite I consider it a reproche to any religious society to take upon them selves the name of any man I believe that Christian or desciple of Christ is name enough for any Christian altho I concur with Mr Campbell in his friends on Christian faith Reformation Baptism the operation of the spirrite and call to the ministry and many other things, yet I do not chose to be cauld by his name I consider party names party creeds confessions of faith and disciplants amongst the gratest evils that prevade the Christian world [gap] dose some metifician form a creede or confssion
