Recipes.

Soda Biscuit.

3 ½ cups flour 1 cup water a piece of butter the size of an egg. 1 teaspoonful of cream tartar ½ teaspoonful soda to 1 tin of biscuit.

Ginger Snapps

1 pt of molasses ½ pt of shortening 1 tablespoonful of ginger 1 tablespoonful saleratus [sodium bicarbonate/baking soda] 1 tablespoonful salt ¼ of a cup of water

mix soft, bake quick

For Pie Crust For 4 round pies 1 cup of shortening melted & turned into the flour & rubbed in.
