ditto warm water
half cup lard or butter
Mix the shortening with the molasses. 2 teaspoonsful soda
Large spoon full of ginger or carraway
seeds

the whites of 3 Eggs. 1 cup
sugar. half cup butter 2 do flour
1 teaspoonful cream of tartar
half ditto soda dissolved in a
half cup milk, flavor as you like

Gold Cake

the yolks of 3 eggs the rest same
as Silver Cake
