IOWA SEED COMPANY, DES MOINES, IOWA. 73.

DOUBLE GERANIUMS.
Geraniums are the most easily grown and satisfactory of all flower plants and only the rose can vie with them in popularity. We have about 200 varieties growing at our place and test a large number of sorts every year. After careful comparison we have selected the following and those described in the Novelty List as the best:
JEAN VIAUD.--Very large semi-double blooms borne in large trusses well above the foliage; individual floret large, color bright rosy pink with distinct white blotch in the center. Each 15c.
BRUANTI.--One of the finest bedding sorts. As will be seen by illustration the leaves are beautifully zoned and therefore showy at all times. Flowers are a bright vermilion red; trusses large, often eight inches in diameter. Each 10c, doz. $1.00.
OLD GLORY.--This grand novelty which we introduced has immense trusses, sometimes six inches in diameter, of magnificent, large, semi-double flowers which cover it so as to almost hide the foliage. The color is a clear, bright, rosy pink, the upper petals are spotted with pure white which adds to its brilliancy. During the hottest, dryest [driest] midsummer weather "Old Glory" was as fresh and sweet as if just watered by an April shower. Each 15c, doz. $1.40.
VERA VEND.--Truss and florets are both of good size; semi-double and very open with large petals, the borders of which are rosy orange, striped with white and delicately marbled and striped with orange. Each 10c.
REMARKABLE.--An intensely double variety of dwarf, compact growth and therefore desirable for pot culture as well as bedding. The florets, which look like little rosebuds, are of a dark scarlet crimson color. Each 15c.
MRS. E. G. HILL.--A most distinct and pleasing shade of salmon with light shading at the center. Each 10c, doz. $1.00.
S. A. NUTT.--The best crimson bedding Geranium. This, the finest of dark crimson geraniums, has now taken the lead as a bedding variety, being used in the largest parks and public grounds of the country in preference to all others. Its dense, compact growth, profuse blooming qualities and sun proof constitution combined give it the prominence as a bedder it has attained. As a pot plant it cannot be excelled. We sell many thousands of these for borders and large beds. Each 10c; doz. 85c; by express, not prepaid, 50 for $2.75; 100 for $5.00.

CONTRASTE.--Flowers and trusses are very large; lower petals orange and carmine, upper petals clear orange, making a striking contrast. Each 15c.
DOUBLE NEW LIFE.--A great novelty and it is a sensational departure in every way. The outer petals are large and of a brilliant red. In the center of these appear another semi-double floret, pure white in color, effecting a very charming contrast difficult to realize unless seen, and having the appearance of being produced artificially. This very novel geranium was lately sent out in England by subscription at a fabulous price. Don't fail to have it if you like rare, beautiful flowers. Each 15c, doz. $1.50.
BLUE BEAUTY.--A European variety of a new color, heretofore unknown in geraniums, being of a most beautiful violet or purplish crimson with a blue sheen over the surface. The flower is double and the three upper, outside petals have a spot of clear vermillion near the base, which makes the flowers more brilliant. The blue tint shows better after flower is fully out. Each 20c.
MARVEL.--Rich crimson scarlet, large flowers and truss; free flowering. One of the best bedding sorts. Each 10c.
IMPROVED LA FAVORITE.--What S. A. Nutt is among dark crimsons, La Favorite is among whites; without doubt the best double white geranium ever offered. It is a strong grower, a profuse bloomer. Each 10c, doz. 85c, by express not prepaid 50 for $2.75; 100 for $5.00.
