Dear Grandma. It has been a long time since I have written to you so now I will write a few lines. We have vacation from school now. We went to the picnic Tuesday and had a great deal of fun. Tommorrow is Forth of July & I am going to have lots of fun. It has just been raining and there were two of the prettiest rain-bows I ever saw. I thought I would write a few lines papa will fill up from your grandson

We are in the midst of stock taking every bodys hands full of work at the store. I hope to figure a profit for our branch but it will be small at best our sales reached $111000.00 expenses $25000. Tomorrow I am requested to play a game of baseball with the polywogs vs Kenwood ball club, think I go down & take part if necessary to make up the nine.

It must be so trying to you to have your future so unsettled. I trust by the time this reaches you all may be fixed, Charlie may have closed out his business to advantage. We would be so glad to have you come to us for a season what do you say? We are not going away this Summer. Coz Shubael Hawes has a fine boy a month old.
