To the worshippful Court of Hustings of the City of
Richmond - The petition of Henry Carter sheweth to
the Court that his wife Priscilla has been lately
emancipated by Deed duly executed & to the
Court here shewn that she can produce
satisfactory evidence of merit & good conduct
& has taken the proper steps under the late
Act of Assembly to warrant this application
& your petitioner therefore prays the Court
to grant permission to her remain in this
Commth under the said Act of Assembly
