SUMMARY OF MILITARY OCCUPATIONS: PLATOON SERGEANT -- Supervised the activities of 36 men. Performed the administrative duties for the platoon including the issuing of equipment, supplies, and food. Responsible for forming the platoon after jumping. Passed on orders of platoon leader and saw that orders were carried out. Led patrols into enemy territory to gain information on enemy dispositions and brought back prisoners for questioning. Used overlays and compass to location points. Cleaned, oiled, and field stripped the rifle, pistol, carbine, and sub-machine gun. Fired these to destroy enemy personnel and provide cover for advancing friendly forces.
