SUMMARY OF MILITARY OCCUPATIONS: STATISTICIAN: Made statistical estimates of medical services and materials which would be needed in support of given military operations. Made continuing special statistical studies of casualties and malaria cases. Devised procedures for collection and processing of data for the entire SWPA.

PLANS AND POLICIES OFFICER: Assisted Third Service Command Surgeon in devising methods for installation of effic-ient procedures in Service Command hospitals and other medical facilities. Prepared reports on status of hospital beds and other vital statistics data from War Department Unit Reports and self-devised reports. Prepared directives and technical manuals on hospital administrative procedures.

VITAL STATISTICS OFFICER: Was Chief of Health Reports Branch, Medical Statistics Division, SGO. Published a weekly compilation of morbidity and mortality data for the Army in the United States; weekly report of hospitalisation data; monthly report of morbidity, mortality, and hospitalisation data of troops in overseas theaters. Prepared frequent special statistical analyses of the health of Army troops.
