I herwith sumbit the amoun of Receipts and Expenditures, as per account
of the department, for the year ending December 31, 1856.

Total ammoun of cash rceived from Proprietors
for labor and materials 28,401.08
Received of George Wm. Bond, Treasurer 4,500.00

Total amount of distribursements, for the
labor and materials 30,623.44
Paid Geo. Wm. Bond, Treasurer, balance
of cash in my hands Dec. 31st 1856, 227.64

Amount due the Corporation from Proprietors,
for labor and materials the past year 3,000.00
There are sundry bills against the
Corporation for granite work, bricks, slate,
&c., of about 1,000.00

Leaving due the Corporation Dec. 31, 1856, say 2,000.00
There have been collected of the above bills
up to Jan 29, 1857, about 1,500.00
And nearly all bills against the Corporation
have been paid.
