The TREASURER Reports the following Abstract of RECEIPTS and EXPENDITURES for the 30th year, 1861.

There was in his hands at commencement of year, $2,415.89
To credit of Corporation for items twice charged by mistake in
previous accounts 206.67
Has received from net income of Investments, 1,786.00
From sundry parties for Materials and Labor upon Lots in the Cemetery 14,675.19
Deposited with him by Jonathan Mann, Superintendent, 1,000.00
For Sale of Lots 16,045.41
For Interment in the Public Lots 15.00
From Notes receivable for Greenhouse, 1,154.58
For Dees, 99.00
From Mass. Horticultural Society, on account New Receiving Tomb 500.00
For 30 Shares in Western Railroad, 3,337.50
" 20 " in Boston and Providence Railroad, 2,130.00
" 24 " in Boston and Worcester Railroad, 2,574.00
Of Wm. H. Spooner, for Plants in Greenhouse, 500.00
There remains due him, 446.11

This certifies that we have examined the books and accounts of the Treasurer of the Proprietors of Mount Auburn, for the year ending December 31st, 1861, and have found them correctly kept and properly balanced, with satisfactory vouchers for all payments charged.

The certificates of stocks and other evidences of property, were found in accordance with the statements in his accounts.

In the Fund for Repairs there appears to be due from him twenty-three hundred and thirty-six 74-100 dollars; and there is due to him on General Account, four hundred and. forty-six 11-100 dollars.

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT.

To the Trustees of Mount Auburn Cemetery :

GENTLEMEN,— In accordance with requirements of the Trustees, I herewith transmit the Annual Report of the Superintendent, for the year ending December 31st, 1861, as per account of his department.

Number of Original Interments for the year ending Dec. 31, 1861, has been... 437 Number of Removals from other Cemeteries 130 Total number of Interments for the year, 567 Number of Interments in the Public Lots for the year, 43 Number of Interments Receiving Tomb for the year, 37 Total number of Interments in the Cemetery to date 10,732 Number of New Lots graded and bounded with Granite Posts, since Sept. 1, 1861, 12; previous, as per Mr. Mann’s account, 67 79 Number of Old Lots improved by being newly graded and sodded since 1st Sept., 1861, 20; previous, as per Mr. Mann’s Account, 32, 52 Number of Old Lots bounded by Granite Posts, as per Mr. Mann’s account, 4 Number of Iron Fences erected since 1st Sept., 2, as per Mr. Mann's account 13, 15 Number of Lots enclosed with Granite since Ist Sept:, 15; as per Mr. Mann's account, 18 33 Number of Tombs Built since Sept. Ist, 2; previous, as per Mr. Mann’s ace’t, 4, 6 Number of Monuments erected since Sept. Ist., 15, as per Mr. Mann's acc't 28, 43
