By reference to Art. 9. -- Gatekeeper -- he is
authorized "in the absence of the Treasurer or
his Clerk
" to receive such burial fees as may be
paid, and pass the sum immediately to the
Treasurer, or his Clerk, upon his return"
.

If the Committee propose to amend the by-laws
to conform to the present established practice, then
these clauses appear to need revision. --

For the same reason, the clause in the
new amendt under Superintendent, viz.

"He shall at the close of each week render
to the Treasurer or his Clerk an accurate statement
of the name of each laborer employed, the amount
of labor performed, and the amount of wages ^to be paid," --
ought to be made to conform to the admitted prac-
tice, or the practice ought to conform to the by law.

The amendt proposed in the 1st & 2d printed reports,
(just referred to) required him to render this account
every day. As a compromise it was made to
read "each week." But it is done only monthly, as
that is as often as the help are paid. --

Inasmuch as it is made the duty of the
Secretary, to keep a duplicate Register of Interments, with
all orders or vouchers properly filled. -- There is
needed a corresponding amendt in Art 7. Supt --
in 16th line of 34th page -- like the following: --
