we have already adopted in practice, as the probable
intention of the Trustees.

I then propose to add: --

"The Treasurer shall
give to each purchaser of a grave in either of the Public
Lots a certificate of such purchase, in accordance
with the form contained in Appendix G." --

Page 42 line 1, strike out the words

"customary or" --
as there is no customary price.

Page 42. 2d & 3 d lines -- I propose instead of

"and the Secretary's fee of one dollar" --
the words --

"And the usual fee for a deed." --

Reasons -- 1st. Rather a flatfooted way of stating
the stipend of an officer. The purpose of this charge
to the proprietor was doubtless to lessen the expense
to the Corporation: but it seems unnecessary to
fix the attention of proprietors particularly upon
the Secretary as the one to whom a portion of their money
goes, when their money goes equally to the support of the
other officers. I think any officer might modestly
ask to be shielded under the above amendment.

2d The fee is at present two dollars. It
