Trustees. .
Pursuant to notices issued in the usual manner the Trustees met at the office of C. P. Curtis Esqr on the Present Messrs Bigelow, Crockett, Curtis, Gould, Little, Parker and Tisdale
Election of Officers.
The record of the last meeting was read and approved. The meeting at once proceeded to ballot for officers for the ensuing year. The following named gentlemen were severally elected by ballot to the several offices set against their names

Trustees .
Pursuant to notices issued in the usual manner, the Trustees met at the office of C.P. Curtis Esqr on Present Messrs Crockett, Bigelow, Read, Tisdale, Kuhn, Parker and Gould.
The record of the last meeting was read and approved.
Ponds. draining & Cleansing.
The President made an oral report on the construction of a drain from Forest into Meadow Pond, and that the latter pond had been in a great degree cleansed by the removal of the mud. (written report afterwards place on file)
No Gate. nearer to the Fitchburg R R Branch Station.
A communication from the superintendent of the Fitchburg Rail Road was read, requesting that a gate may be opened nearer to the Station House of the Watertown Branch Rail Road at Mount Auburn. Voted, that the petitioner have leave to withdraw.
Chapel repairs of.
Voted. That the Committee on the tower be instructed to make inquiries and report to the trustees on the expediency of removing and replacing such portions of the Chapel as are found to be defective in material or construction.
Tomb lot applied for
An application from Frederick W. Tracy for leave to build an underground tomb or catacombs on the extreme Southern side, between Walnut and the outer avenue, was referred to the Committee on Lots with full powers to act within the present laws and regulations of the Cemetery.
Paving of Gutters.
The Committee on the tower, were also ordered to take in charge the subject of paving gutters on the avenues or paths.
Sec.y to issue tickets to Joint Purchasers -
Voted. That the Secretary be authorized to issue more than one ticket, upon one lot, where he is satisfied that

two persons are jointly purchasers of a lot in fact, though the title is in the name of one only, as required by the Charter and standing rules of the Corporation.
One the written petitions of James M Burgess and Deborah Burgess, it was Voted. That the Trustees accept the surrender of a deed of lot no. 1408. dated , to William G. Burgess, that being the name of a person then deceased, and that said deed be canceled, and that the Treasurer and Secretary issue a new deed of said lot to the said Deborah Burgess as prayed for in said petition.
Ticket to Parish Treasurer. Lot 103.
The petition of S. Packard in relation to lot no 103, that a ticket, may issue to the Treasurer, and his successors of the Second Society of Universalists in Boston, and that the lot be represented by him, was referred to Isaac Parker with full powers. Said lot is owned by that Society.
Lot 1424. Representative of.
Voted. That in accordance with the application of the children and heirs of Nathan Rice, deceased, late proprietor of lot no 1424 in the Cemetery, Nathan P. Rice, the oldest son, now residing in Boston, be designated for the time being to represent said lot, and vote at the meetings of this Corporation, receiving a ticket of admission in that capacity, until the further action of this board.
Superintendents workmen not to be called from regular duties.
A letter from the Superintendent was read, requesting that the men under his charge should^not be called away from the regular round of duties under his direction to work upon the operations prosecuted in connection with the so called well house, near the gate.
Voted that his request be granted, And by common consent, agree that Mr Howe's letter be referred to the
