The following is a copy of the deed conveying
the land referred to upon the two preceding pages
to Thomas Dowse. _

Deed _ Proprietors to Thomas Dowse

"Know all men by these presents that the Pro-
prietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, by virtue
of a vote of the Trustees of said Proprietors, passed at
a regular meeting duly notified & held in Boston
on the and in consid-
eration of the sum of forty dollars paid to them
by Thomas Dowse of Cambridge, the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell &
convey to the said Thomas Dowse & his heirs and
assigns a certain piece of land in the Cemetery of
Mount Auburn, in the County of Middlesex, situated on
the way called Pine Avenue, between the lots numbered
eleven hundred & sixty nine
and eleven hundred & seventy,
and extending from said Pine Avenue to lot numbered
eighteen hundred & ten
, recently conveyed by said Dowse
to said Proprietors; _ said piece of land containing
eighty superficial square feet. _

To have and to hold the same to the said
Thomas Dowse & his heirs & assigns forever, on the
condition that said land shall be kept open as a
Path forever. _

In witness whereof, the said Proprietors of the
Cemetery of Mount Auburn, have caused this instrument
to be signed by their Treasurer and countersigned by their
Secretary and their Common seal to be hereto affixed the
