Trustees

The Trustees held their monthly meeting
on

There were present the President and Messrs Austin,
Bowditch, Little, Livermore, Lovejoy, Norcross, Rand
and Read.

The record of the last meeting was read. _

By-laws reported in a new draft.

Mr Norcross for the Committee on the revision of the
By-laws reported _ submitting the same with alterations
and additions in a new draft:

Upon which it was

Voted that the same be printed, and a copy
be sent to each of the Trustees in season for consider-
ation of the next meeting of this Board. _

Com. on Public Mont ask further time _

Mr Austin for the Committee chosen to invite designs
for the public monument for the heroes who have fallen in the
present war asked further time to report in form. _

Conditional appropriation for Public Monument _

Mr Rand submitted the following motion, to which under the
rule lies over until the next meeting:

"That the Trustees will appropriate from the funds of
the Corporation one half the amount necessary for the erection of
a monument to the memory of the brave soldiers who have died
in the war
, provided such half part shall not exceed
$(15,000) fifteen thousand dollars, and provided also the remain-
ing one half shall be subscribed and paid by other parties.
