James C. Scorgie
Superintendent Mount Auburn Cemetery
February 15 1921

'The Trustees deeply regret the death of
James C. Scorgie who has been connected with
the Cemetery as Assistant Superintendent and
as Superintendent for more than thirty-seven
years. During all that time he has made the
Cemetery his first and greatest interest and it
owes much to his faithful and devoted service.
He was of inflexible honesty and sterling char-
acter and won a leading position in his profes-
sion. His kindly and affectionate disposition
and uniform courtesy obtained the warm regard
of all with whom he was brought in contact.
The Trustees place on record this ex-
pression of the loss to the Cemetery and to
themselves, and their great sympathy with the
family of Mr. Scorgie in their bereavement,
and the Secretary is directed to send to them
a copy of this minute."
