Dear Sir:

Your favor of the to
Mr Collins is received. The order which bears
date of that you gave, has a line drawn
through the price for plants. I enclose you a
copy of the order. As you were charged
in 1873 $6.00 for care & $3.00 for plants & as
you state that you wished only 600
expendedin 1874 the cause & reason of no plants
being put in the lot is evident.

I am very sorry that you made a mistake
in your order and did not order what you
meant to, but under the circumstances I
fail to see that any blame rightly attaches
itself to any one employed here
