NOTES
Lines 8-13: Could not determine the name of the first vessel. Based on a review of American ships reporting from the SW Pacific in late 1844, it appears that this is not an American. The ship Mercator sailed from New Bedford June 20, 1843. The ship Brunswick sailed from New Bedford Novenber 6, 1843
Lines 23-24: The Brunswick reported from King George's Sound (SW Australia) 21 July 1844. She gamed with the Huntress in the Great Australia Bight and continued southeast, reporting off New Zealand 8 January 1845
