Ship Rebecca Sims of Fairhaven 400 Tons

Tuesday morning sea account Nov 11th 1857 Commences with fine weather the wind from the North. At 8 A.M. the Pilot went on board and got the Ship underway and went down and anchored off Clarkes Point. At 11 all hands on board took the Anchor and steered out of the Bay. the wind kept halling to the westward so ends.

Wednesday Nov 18 Commences with brisk winds from the W.N.W. steering S.W. by the wind At 2 P.M. the Pilot left we than squared in the yards and steered S. by E. [ stained illegible entry ] parts steered S.S.E. and S.E. so ends Lat 40 and 15 Long by chro 68.4 Long by French Chro [68?].48

Thursday Nov 19 Commences with light winds from the N.W. & W steering S.E. by E. middle part calm and baffeling winds. Latter parts strong winds from the S.E. and squally. heading S.W. by S. at 10 A.M. wind shifted to the S. wore ship and Steered E.S.E. at noon wind S.S.E. head East saw black fish Lat by obs 39.57 Long By chrometer 68.20.30 [saw?] Long by french chomter 68.27.45

Friday Nov 20 Commences with Brisk winds and Pleasant weather from the South to SSE head to the ESE and East middle and Latter part wind SW and South and hard rain sent one watch below Lat By obs 40.00 Long By chomter a Bout 66.40 Now observation

1857 Saturday Nov 21 Commences with strong winds from the SW steering SE and SE B East middle and Latter part wind fresh from the NW and thick and some rain unbent the Cables and stowed them below Lat By obs 39 58 Long by [chronometer?] 63.08 Long by French chronter [sic] 63.02

Sabath Nov 22 Commences with fresh winds from the WNW steering SSE the Latter part weather squally wind from the South to SSE so ends Lat By obs 38.54 Long By chronometer 60.30 Long by french 60.37

Monday Nov 23 Commences with strong winds and squally from the South steering SE B East middle and Latter part wind Light and calm weather fine employed in bucking [sic] out the fore hole to find things So Ends Lat By obs No observation

Tuesday Novem [sic] 24 Commences with light winds from the SE head ENE middle part hard rain Latter part fresh gale from the south and SSW steering ESE saw a [large?] ship steering E B S took in jibb and main sail double reeft [sic] the top sails

Wednesday Nov 25 Commences with strong wind and wruged [sic] weather from the S B W steering SE B E ¼ East set the main sail at 3 PM set the jibb wether [sic] modeateing [sic] middle and Latter part fresh winds and some squally saw a scool of black fish Lat 39.30 Long at Bout 50.30
