EDGECOMBE COUNTY
On this the 30th day of June 1866, personally
appeared before me, Theo Atkinson a Justice of the Peace in and for said
County, Jesse Oats and Rosetta Pitt residents of said County, both of whom
were lately slaves now emancipated, and acknowledge that they cohabited as
man and wife for 65 years.
